Aphrodite is the great Olympian goddess of beauty, love, and pleasure. She was depicted as a beautiful woman usually accompanied by the winged godling Eros. Love and beauty are ideas essentially connected, and Aphrodite was therefore also the goddess of beauty and gracefulness.
