Barack and Michelle.
Two alphas who made it work. She was VP of a hospital in Chicago and he was a Senator. Both lawyers, both ambitious, and both wrapped tight and neat.
They are a testament that an alpha female and alpha male relationship CAN work contrary to studies. What makes it work is one word: space. Space to be. When he became senator she didn’t move to DC, where he spent lots of time. She stayed in Chicago. They had space to be their own individual selves and explore their goals. They also had the same values. They had a similar vision, too, of what their lives would look like.
And now, the alpha combo has gotten them into the most exclusive club on earth. He couldn’t have done it with a beta. Beta women need a lot. They need lots of explanations, have lots of questions, and need to be reassured constantly. They are defined by their husbands, instead of defining their husbands. Beta women are the ones who’ve given this whole marriage thing a bad wrap. It was a beta who first put the shackles around her man’s ankles.
Another alpha couple is Bill & Hill, who are the more traditional type alpha couple with shady backgrounds that may or may not be true and are surrounded by lots of haters and gossip who envy their union. Alphas are not perfect people. They are imperfect, marvels of nature. They tread and succeed and overcome what most people can’t. They do opposites. They do not do things right. Their objective is win win win. For more on Bill & Hill read Why I Would Marry Bill.
The Obamas reflect a more kinder, gentler alpha couple with compromise, drama free backgrounds (if all they could find was a rowdy pastor, wow). Barack and Michelle. Let’s see what the future holds as they haven’t been challenged the way the Clintons have in the public light. In the meantime, they are good examples of what it looks like when two alphas not only work well together, but play well together, too—and stay in their lane. (News - Politics) Views:
