WoooHah.com reported awhile back that Beyonce would be starring as 50's Chicago singer Etta James in the upcoming biopic Cadillac Records. Now it turns out she is doing a lot more than acting in this project. Aside from acting, Beyonce will also be executive producing the movie and will be singing four songs on the soundtrack that will be distributed by Columbia Records and Music World Entertainment. Music World is of course Daddy Knowles' company. The only thing Beyonce is not doing in this movie is set design. Or maybe food services...which they will probably leave to Solange.
Cadillac Records centers around Leonard Chess, the legendary founder of the 1950's Chicago record label that launched the careers of R&B greats such as Muddy Waters, Etta James and Chuck Berry. Adrien Brody is set to play Chess, Jeffrey Wright will play Muddy Waters and Cedric the Entertainer will play Willie Dixon, writer for most of the hit songs for Chess' record label.
